ERP cost calculator: build or buy?
Pick your modules, users, branches and integrations. The calculator compares an indicative custom ERP build with a packaged ERP's licences and implementation over five years, in Saudi riyals, and shows when owning the system starts to cost less.

How the estimate works
Packaged ERP
- Licences use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central list prices: USD 80 per user a month for Essentials, USD 110 for Premium and USD 8 for light users, converted at SAR 3.75 per US dollar.
- Implementation is set at one to three times the first-year licence fee, the range ERP Research reports for consulting, data migration and training.
- Customisation, paid add-ons, partner support and future price rises are not included, so the real figure is usually higher.
Custom ERP
- The build estimate comes from the scope you choose: modules, integrations, branches, users, data migration and how specific your workflows are.
- After launch we assume 15% to 20% of the build cost a year for hosting, support and changes.
- There is no per-user licence, so a growing team does not add licence cost.
- Most first releases go live in four to eight weeks after discovery, and further modules follow in phases.
ERP cost questions
How much does a custom ERP cost in Saudi Arabia?
It depends on scope. For a single company with finance, sales and inventory, ten full users and one integration, this calculator's indicative estimate is SAR 90,000 to 140,000. More modules, branches and integrations, and messier data, raise it.
Why does a packaged ERP cost more over time?
Packaged ERPs charge a licence for every user, every month, for as long as you use them, so the bill grows with the team. A custom ERP has a one-time build cost and a yearly running cost that does not depend on headcount.
What is not included in the packaged ERP figure?
Customisation, marketplace extensions, partner support contracts and future price increases. The figure covers list-price licences and implementation only.
Does the estimate include ZATCA e-invoicing?
Yes. The sales and invoicing module includes integration with ZATCA's Fatoora platform for Phase 2 e-invoicing. If invoices also come from other systems, count each one as an integration.
How long does a custom ERP take to build?
Most first releases go live in four to eight weeks after discovery and cover the workflow that matters most. Further modules follow in phases, in order of business risk.
Is this a quote?
No. It is an indicative estimate to help you choose a route. A firm estimate follows a short discovery of your workflows, data and integrations.
